We have a twin day care in San Marcos, Nicaragua.  Is is called CDI - Samuel Calero.

We have been twinned with this child care centre since 1988.  This child care centre works hard to improve the lives of children and families in San Marcos, Nicaragua.  This is a very poor country.  The services this centre provides makes a huge difference.  Not only do they educate and care for the children but also provide basic necessities like food, shelter and medicine. Every year our centre sends a small donation to help support them.  We also accept donations from our families, staff, and the general public to send to them.

We have had different people from our "family" who have had the opportunity to visit the centre in Nicaragua. One of our former coordinators even went down with a film crew and filmed a tv documentary about our twinning.

We are proud of our long standing relationship.  It is good to be reminded of how fortunate we are and to have the opportunity to help improve the lives of children who are not as fortunate.   

This relationship also helps our children learn about children in another part of the world.   Our children can relate to the child care setting.  We have shared photos and letters and artwork.
