Our centre is a parent/staff cooperative.  We do not expect parents to work on a day to day basis in the centre, but parents are expected to participate on the board or committees.  All parents are to attend the AGM. 

Our centre is governed by a volunteer board of directors.  The board membership is made up of 6 parents, 6 staff, and 3 external members.  Meetings are generally held on the 4th Monday of the month.  Meetings are monthly, except for in July and December, when there are no meetings held.  Exceptional meetings may be called, if there is a need.  There is an annual AGM in the Spring.  At the AGM, any new board members are elected.

The board has a number of committees.  The committees do most of the work and research on items and then present their recommendations to the board for final decisions. Some of the committees are:  Finance, Personnel, Fundraising, and Policies and Procedures.

The 3 external members can be elected from anyone in the community.  If you would like to nominate yourself, for one of these positions, please email or call us to let us know.  We look for a variety of different backgrounds, skills, and interests to help round out our board.
