About Us

The Glebe Parents Day Care is a non profit parent/staff cooperative Day Care Centre. We are very proud of this. We do not want to make money off your kids, we want to invest in them. We are located in the Capital of Canada, Ottawa. We offer care to a variety of ages. We have a main centre that has different programs for children from 6 weeks to Senior Kindergarten. We have a family home child care component where there are a number of providers that provide care in their homes. We have 4 different satellite locations. These satellite programs are in different schools in our neighbourhood. These locations provide programs for Kindergarten and School Age Children.

Being a parent/staff cooperative makes us a big "family". We work together to help and support each other. It is very important that our parents/guardians are involved since it is their children we are shaping. The parents work with staff on the board and committees to develop our policies and set directions. The educated and experienced staff use their great knowledge to carry out the day to day programs. The families and staff work together but we like to have fun together as well. We have different events during the year. Some are for individual programs, like Halloween, skating, and graduation parties. Some are multiple program events like magic shows, puppet shows, and dance a thons. Others are whole centre events such as pancake breakfasts and family bar-b-cues.

Days and Hours of Operation

The day care opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. It should be noted that in PHCC, care might, in certain circumstances, be provided prior to 7:30 and after 5:30. In all cases, a request for extended hours must be made to the home visitor.

The day care is closed for the following holidays (when these holidays fall on a week-end we will be closed for an alternate day. Check with day care staff for closure day.):

The centre is closed from Christmas Eve until New Year’s Day inclusive.

(Depending how the Christmas holidays fall, we may be closed for additional days prior or after this holiday period. The actual Christmas closure period is determined on an annual basis.)
