Our Programs: "The Neighbourhood Hub"

The Glebe Parents’ Day Care has developed a “neighbourhood hub model” childcare centre. The centre provides a wide range of programs for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 10 years through a variety of formats. The Glebe Parents’ Day Care is licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services under the Ontario Day Nurseries Act, which sets standards for health, safety, nutrition, programming, staffing child/staff ratios and physical premises. A brief overview of each of the eight programs follows:

Main Centre Programs located at 10 Fifth Avenue

Infant: 10 children age 6 weeks to 18 months

Toddler: 15 children age 18 months to 2 ½ years

Preschool: 24 children age 2 ½ years to 4 years

Kindergarten: 20 children age 4 to 6 years

Parents’ Home Child Care of Ottawa: Up to 80 children placed in various homes in the city. (Resources and other special services available to providers employed by the organization)

Satellite Programs

Corpus Christi Kindergarten/School-Age Program: Corpus Christi School, 157 Fourth Avenue. This program offers care to 10 kindergarten children and 15 school age children, age 6-10 years.

First Avenue Kindergarten/School-Age Program: First Avenue School, 73 First Ave. This program offers care to 20 kindergarten children and 30 school age children, age 6-10 years.

Hopewell Kindergarten/School-Age Program: Hopewell School, 17 Hopewell Avenue. This program offers care to 30 kindergarten children and 30 school age children, age 6 – 10 years.

Mutchmor School-Age program: Mutchmor School, 185 Fifth Avenue. This program offers care to 30 school age children, age 6-10 years.

On school holidays, professional development days and during the summer months, these programs provide full day Not all Kindergarten programs can accommodate all of these schools. Check with individual programs for their compatibility with schools.
