SPRING/SUMMER SCHEDULE

7:30 Centre opens

8:00 – 9:30 Snack time and bathroom routine

Free play in the Preschool Room

9:45 – 10:00 Children separate into circle group

Circle time, then bathroom routine

10:00 - 11:30 Outdoor/Indoor Play - according to weather

Includes: Tabletop games, cognitive activities, puzzles, unit blocks, dramatic play, sensory activities, water play/sand play, play dough. Gross motor activities - bikes, wagons tunnels, climber. Also, community walks, field trips and special visitors

11:45 -12:30 Lunchtime

12:30 - 2:00 Bathroom and settling down, naptime

2:00 - 3:00 Children starting to wake-up

Quiet activities in P.S. room

2:45 - 3:30 Free play outdoors or basement for half the children. Planned activities, teacher presented art

4:00 – 4:30 Snack and bathroom routine

4:30 - 5:30 Free play outdoors/indoors

5:30 Centre closes.

FALL/WINTER SCHEDULE

7:30 – 9:30 Quiet activities.

8:00 - 9:00 Snack.

9:30 10:00 Bathroom and dressing for outside.

10:00 – 10:15 Children separate into circle groups.

approx. Circle time, then bathroom routine.

10:30 – 11:30 Outdoor/Indoor play- according to weather

including: tabletop games, cognitive activities, puzzles, unit blocks, dramatic play, sensory activities, sand/water and snow play, playdough. Gross motor activities – sleighs, wagons, tunnels, and climber. Also, community walks, field trips and special visitors.

11:45 - 12:30 Lunch time.

12:30 - 2:00 Bathroom and settling down, naptime.

2:00 - 3:00 Wake up - free play activities and teacher prepared art activity in the Preschool Room.

3:00 – 4:00 1/2 group to basement for gross motor and dramatic play or outdoor play. / Rotates

4:00 – 4:30 Snack and bathroom routine.

4:30 - 5:30 Indoor free play in both rooms or basement.

5:30 Daycare closes.

The Preschool room offers care to twenty-four children by three full time and one part time early childhood educators.
A stimulating and nurturing environment is created based on the children's interests.
From their interests we foster emergent literacy, numeracy, self help, and socialization skills.
